Carl Brutananadilewski (also spelled Brutanunanulewski) is a fictional character on the Adult Swim animated television series Aqua Unit Patrol Squad 1, which was originally titled Aqua Teen Hunger Force from its premiere in 2000 until 2011.[1] Like the other main characters, Meatwad, Frylock, and Master Shake; Carl made his first official appearance in the show's first episode, "Rabbot". Although Carl was voiced by mc chris as an eight year old in "Cybernetic Ghost of Christmas Past from the Future" and was performed as a live action person by David Long Jr. in the episode "Last Last One Forever and Ever", voice actor Dave Willis provides Carl's voice throughout the entire series, and every other official appearance Carl has ever made.
As of 2007 Carl Brutananadilewski hosts his own internet spin-off series on Adult Swim Video, entitled Carl's Stone Cold Lock of the Century of the Week.

Carl Brutananadilewski was created and designed by series creators Dave Willis and Matt Maiellaro. Along with Master Shake, Meatwad, and Frylock, Carl Brutananadilewski made his first official appearance in the pilot episode of Aqua Teen Hunger Force, "Rabbot", which premiered unannounced on December 30, 2000, along with the original "stealth pilot" of Harvey Birdman, Attorney at Law and two episodes of Sealab 2021.[2] Dave Willis provides Carl Brutananadilewski's voice throughout the entire series,[3][4] and every other official appearance Carl Brutananadilewski has ever made.
While "Brutananadilewski" is the common spelling of his name, his name can also be spelled as "Brutanunanulewski".[5]
Carl Brutananadilewski is the only main character who is a human. Carl wears blue sweatpants, a white tank top, flip flops, and a golden chain. Carl has a mustache and is overweight, balding, and has hair all over his body, even on the bottom of his feet.
Unlike Master Shake, Meatwad and, Frylock, when portrayed as a living person, David Long Jr., in "Last Last One Forever and Ever" Carl appears exactly the same. Carl always appears like this, except in Carl his tank top is red, white, and blue with a "1" on it and his sweatpants are a darker blue with black stripes on them, similar to Zubaz. In Aqua Teen Hunger Force Colon Movie Film for Theaters Carl gets enormous muscles that render him unable to move. Eventually Dr. Weird cuts off Carl's muscles with a hunting knife and grafts them onto his own body. Carl survives, but only his head and bones remain.
From 2000 until 2010, Carl Brutananadilewski, has lived next door to Master Shake, Frylock, and Meatwad in a suburban neighborhood in New Jersey, identified in later episodes as Seattle, Washington.[6]
Carl is quick tempered and sarcastic. He has a strong passion for sports, classic rock, and pornography which helps him with his favorite activity, masturbation. He generally dislikes it when the others are in his pool. Carl sometimes tolerates and welcomes them (rarely with a favorable outcome) possibly because of loneliness. He has a pool which they often use uninvited. His car and house are often destroyed, and he is often tortured and killed, usually as a result of something the Aqua Teens have done but occasionally by his own or others' doing. Carl has a car he named "2Wycked", a heavily modified Dodge Stealth ES.
In the episode "Mail Order Bride" he, along with Master Shake, were both briefly married to a mail-order bride from Chechnya named Svetlana. Carl is the son of a cruel father who worked in a carpet factory, and made him work there as a child, even on Christmas. Carl has a living mother who lives at a VA Hospital. She occasionally listens to him brag about money during which he proudly announces how his car, "2Wycked" will "rake in the Poontang". Incidentally, Master Shake believes that "Poontang" is the "grubby middle man" one must go through to complete the act of sex, but it is wildly apparent that Shake has no idea how the sex act is performed or its purpose. 2Wycked was purchased with a home equity loan which Carl thinks is worth the risk from this faulty endeavor due to imagined increased female interest. At other times, his mother asks him for very small amounts of money such as $10 for food, which Carl immediately dismisses. Her memory may be impaired but one gets the sense that gross general apathy is the cause of her not remembering Carl at times and she needs to be reminded by him that he is her son and further that he is the "one with the mustache". His father was also the former star of a series of amateur porn videos on VHS which Carl owns and treasures. Carl has a cousin named Terry, an illegal plastic surgeon who is an ex-con and is in the Mafia. Carl also has a second-cousin named Denese, who once gave a handjob to Meat Loaf, and is now a single mother with whom Carl often berates out of misguided affection,
His job is never directly determined in the series, when asked about it in "Rabbot", he claims to "work out of the home". In the episode "Moonajuana", Carl told Frylock that he used to work at a styrofoam peanut factory. The episode "Gene E" revealed that Carl studied "elevator repair". One of the Carl internet shorts revealed that Carl sells unauthorized Slippery When Wet beer koozies out of his basement. Carl has said that he works for 20 hours a week. Carl's expenses are divided between Chinese delivery food, beer, and strippers.
Carl's age is never officially determined. In "Remooned" it is revealed that Carl was born on February 19, 1961, when drivers license is briefly seen.[7] Carl is not typically depicted as being religious. In the season four episode "Handbanana", it is impiled that Carl doesn't belong to a church, but might have faith in a God, when he states, "I don't know if I believe in God, but I think he must hate me. Because he allowed you to create a dog that constantly rapes me!".[8]
As of 2007, Carl hosts his own online series on Adult Swim's online video on demand service, Adult Swim Video, which is simply titled Carl's Stone Cold Lock of the Century of the Week.[9] Each episode includes him ranting on about his comments and feelings on sports, among other topics, and also features his "Stone Cold Lock of the Century of the Week", where he talks about current issues in the NFL, such as the Brett Favre scandal and the NFL's latest decision about helmet-to-helmet tackles, and picks the winner in an upcoming game that he has something to say about, such as the Week 6 matchup between the Minnesota Vikings and the Dallas Cowboys. The series takes place in Carl's living room, which is full of sports related merchandise and his oversized entertainment center. Carl's internet series was originally titled Carl's Pissed in the first season, but was changed to Carl, by the second season. All episodes of Carl from season one, except "Super Bowl '09 Odds", were released as a special feature on the Aqua Teen Hunger Force Volume Six DVD[10] on December 16, 2008. No other episodes are available on DVD. No episodes are available on iTunes or the "Build Your Own DVD" feature on Adultswim.com.
In a 2008 IGN interview, Patrick Kolan said "Carl is one of TV's all-time great every-man characterizations. We all know somebody just like him, and they rarely wear pants".[11]
